TOEFL deadline and score-arrival calculator

Start with the date your institution must receive your score. The calculator works backwards using ETS's published reporting windows, then adds the preparation or retake buffer you choose.

Use the deadline by which the score must be received, not merely the application submission date. If a university gives different instructions, follow the university.

This is an Avermond planning estimate. Business days exclude weekends but not public holidays. Recipient processing, local closures and postal delays are not predictable, so earlier is safer.

Scores in your ETS account

ETS says scores are posted three days after the test; the PDF follows one day later. An account result is not the same as delivery to an institution.

Electronic recipients

ETS gives 4–8 business days for Data Manager and 8–10 business days for server feeds. The calculator uses the slower end.

Plan for another attempt

ETS recommends choosing a test date at least two to three months before the earliest deadline. Use the buffer rather than relying on the delivery-only date.
